Commission a Portrait
Portraits of People
Here are some examples of my people portraits.
A portrait is a gift of a lifetime. It’s an heirloom, a legacy that you can leave for generations to enjoy.
When painting a portrait, I want to capture my subject’s essence and personality, not just the likeness of the person. That’s why my preference is to meet with the person for an hour or two for a photo shoot. We then decide together the photos I will use as reference when painting the portrait. Sometimes, I will also have the person come into the studio for final touches to the portrait.
Usually, however, I work from photos since often clients live in different cities or are surprising a loved one with a portrait or in the event they are commissioning a portrait of a deceased relative. In these instances, I gather information about personality and such from the person I’m painting from who is commissioning the piece.
Here is an example of a photo my client provided and the finished painting:

Portraits of Places
I work from your photos (or I may do my own photo shoot if you are local). Do you have a favorite photograph from your vacation that you would like preserved in an oil painting? Or maybe you have a home that you love, a home you built, or a favorite landmark in your community or city. I can do any of these for you in a beautiful oil painting. I can do a very painterly palette knife painting or I can do a beautiful, traditional brush painting.

Portraits of Pets
Here are some examples of my Pet Portraits:
I work from your photos to create an oil painting portrait of your pet that will be completely unique and capture some of the spirit of your cherished furry (or un-furry) friend.
Prices for pet portraits:
Larger commissioned paintings are available. Please contact me if you want a specific size not listed.
All pet portraits are painted in oil using high quality board or linen or cotton canvas.
Payment: I require 1/2 payment down and the other 1/2 upon delivery of the final portrait. Checks, credit cards, Pay Pal, cash are all welcome. I also offer payment plans if you need to spread out payments.
Framing: If clients would like a frame, we generally discuss options before the painting is complete. My prices listed do not include a frame, but I am happy to add a frame for an additional, very reasonable charge. (I get wholesale prices and I don’t charge you the full retail price.) I recommend you allow me to help you in the frame selection since this can add to the beauty of your piece.
